Routed is a fully on-device app. Your photos and the
location data inside them never leave your iPhone. There is no Routed
server, account, or cloud — by design.
What Routed does with your data
Everything is computed on your device. Routed reads
the GPS coordinates embedded in your photos' metadata (via Apple
PhotoKit) and turns them into your travel log — countries, movements,
and timelines — entirely on your iPhone.
Photos and GPS coordinates never leave your device.
They are not uploaded, transmitted, stored on any server, or shared
with anyone. There is no backend.
Photo Library access is requested only to perform
these on-device calculations and to show your own photos back to you
inside the app. Access is never used for any other purpose.
Anonymous usage analytics
Routed uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how
people move through the app (for example: was photo access granted, did
the analysis complete, was a card shared). This helps us fix problems and
improve the product.
Only event names and aggregate counters are sent
(e.g. number of countries, permission status). No photos and no
GPS coordinates are ever sent.
Routed uses the IDFA-free build of Firebase
Analytics. It does not use the advertising identifier,
does not track you across other apps or websites, and shows no App
Tracking Transparency prompt because no such tracking occurs.
This analytics data is anonymous and is not used to identify you.
Data sharing and sale
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for
advertising. The only third party involved is Google Firebase, solely as
the processor of the anonymous usage events described above.
Children
Routed is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly
collect personal information from them.
